Party at Marianne’s! CORRECTION

Marianne and Herb Huestis are once again opening their home and garden for one of their legendary early evening parties.

When: This Saturday, August 13, starting around 5:00 pm
Where: 4472 Arthur Drive, Ladner
What: If you are able, bring a dish to go along with the burgers that Herb and Marianne are providing. Salad, chips, desert, finger food… Yum.
Need at ride? Drivers and riders gather at the church at 3 pm. Leave for Marianne’s around 3:15 pm.

So far we have three drivers confirmed, with room for three passengers each. If you have not already arranged a ride, email Tasha at tasha.vicar@stmarymags.ca or Sean at office@stmarymags.ca. You can also call the office at 604-877-1788.

Everyone is welcome, whether you’ve been around St. Mary Mags for decades or days. The more the merrier.

Mid-week eucharist

Mid-week eucharist is back on, Wednesdays at 12:30 pm.

Wondering what you can do to help?

Sanctuary set up and counters
We are looking for ongoing help with two important roles. You don’t need prior knowledge or experience–we’ll get you all trained up.

One is to help set up the sanctuary for worship. If you like the idea of transforming a bare room into a beautiful worship space, this is the job for you. It involves moving some furniture (not too heavy) and setting out candles, etc.  This job needs to be done in advance of the service, either on Saturday or earlier on Sunday. It takes 20 to 30 minutes.

The other role is counting the offering after worship. This needs two people every week. In addition to counting, this job includes filling in a tally sheet and the deposit book. Ideally we will have several people who can do this job so that it’s not every Sunday.

If St. Mary Magdalene’s feels like your church, then these jobs might be a good way to deepen your connection with the community.
