Welcome Back to Church!
It’s been a summer of comings and goings at St. Mary Magdalene’s. But now that September is here, we’ve got a lot to look forward to. Keep reading for all the details.
Work party this Saturday, 11:00am to 2:00pm (ish)
Come and put the party in work party. We’re going to sort, scrub, dust, and polish so that we’re all shiny and clean for the special evensong (see below).
If you have them, bring your own gloves, cleaning cloths and buckets. Cleaning products, pizza, and San Pellegrino provided.
Evensong for an icon
On Monday, October 3rd at 5:30pm we are holding a special evensong to bless Pam Martin’s extraordinary reproduction of the famous Rublev Trinity icon. John Marsh is preaching and Bishop John Stephens is officiating. We will be using Holden Evening Prayer for the setting.
This project has taken many hours over three years to complete. Pam created it with St. Mary Mags in mind, and after it is blessed it will be installed inside the sanctuary over the main entrance.
Come to celebrate this beautiful gift to our community and to catch up with the Martin-Seedhouses.
Mission and Ministry Conference 2022
Connect with friends old and new from Anglican churches across the diocese for a day of renewal and encouragement. We will learn a new way of working together while we engage the issues of housing and homelessness, climate justice or spiritual development (you will pick one). Dr. Amy Zidulka of Royal Roads University will lead us through creative techniques for using the strengths of a group to generate more effective approaches to these areas. Be inspired, empowered and encouraged as we build up the church together. And word is that the food, by Sto’lo Catering, will be delicious.
Saturday, October 15 from 10 am to 4 pm at St. Dunstan’s, Aldergrove. Contact Tasha to register and arrange ride-sharing.

Did you know that this Friday we remember Bishop Ninian? The cost is $10. Proceeds support the work of the Anglican Church Women. Sign up in the front hall or drop the office an email. Orders end September 25.
