Urban Aboriginal Ministry offers pastoral care and support to Indigenous people in the city. Coordinating Minister Steven Seegerts also facilitates events that promote reconciliation amongst Indigenous, settler and immigrant people. St. Mary Magdalene’s is a longtime supporter of this ministry, first through founding priest the Rev. Vivian Seegers, and now under the leadership of her son.
Bug’s Backyard is a youth-led, non-profit theatre troupe that prides itself in being a safe, accessible space for queer folk. We have moved our rehearsals from Bug’s backyard to St. Mary Magdalene’s. Our shows are incredibly goofy and made completely with resources we find in our own homes. Donations go into finding a venue and buying the rights to the productions!
