Third Space Gatherings is a community-led, not-for-profit initiative under the BC Societies Act.
Open to people of all backgrounds, its monthly gatherings at St. Mary Magdalene's bring people together across ages and experiences to connect, have genuine conversations, and build community in Metro Vancouver. It fosters social connection, belonging, and community through regular gatherings, creating space for meaningful connections to form across diverse backgrounds, generations, and perspectives.
Urban Aboriginal Ministry offers pastoral care and support to Indigenous people in the city. Coordinating Minister Steven Seegerts also facilitates events that promote reconciliation amongst Indigenous, settler and immigrant people. St. Mary Magdalene’s is a longtime supporter of this ministry, first through founding priest the Rev. Vivian Seegers, and now under the leadership of her son, Steven.
Bug’s Backyard is a youth-led, non-profit theatre troupe that prides itself in being a safe, accessible space for queer folk. Our shows are incredibly goofy and made completely with resources we find in our own homes. Donations go to finding venues to perform, and buying the rights to the productions! Faithfully tended by volunteers, our community garden is open to all — blessed with abundant greens, fruit & flowers for pollinators.
