About St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church

At St. Mary Magdalene’s, our heart is the table—whether through Holy Communion or shared meals. Worship blends traditional and alternative texts, embracing community through a circle seating and shared reflections. Our adaptable space allows for unique setups during special occasions, adding to a serene sanctuary atmosphere. Small but vibrant, we support community projects like a garden open to all and Urban Aboriginal Ministry. We gather for prayer, study, and seasonal art retreats, welcoming all to join in worship and spiritual growth.

Worship
All are welcome to join.

Worship includes scripture readings, hymns, shared reflections, and communion in a welcoming, semi-circle seating arrangement. Following a short sermon, we engage in shared reflections and community prayers. Music spans traditional hymns and contemporary pieces, with congregational singing in harmony. We celebrate life events, including baptisms, weddings, and funerals, affirming LGBTQ2S+ marriage.

Sunday Eucharist is at 10:30 am, and a simple, mid-week Eucharist is offered Wednesdays at 12:30 pm.

Our Beliefs
At St. Mary Magdalene's we recognize and honour the coming of God's kingdom of justice and peace through the messiness of loving relationships with self, others, and with the Divine.

We are an open and creative community always in the process of becoming while firmly rooted in ancient faith. Striving for a balance of being and doing, we discern how to be of service as we joyfully work, pray and eat together. At St. Mary Magdalene's there is a reverence for beauty, depth, silence, connection and care. In our liturgies and prayers, we enter into the realm of wonder, mystery and profound gratitude, seeking to be transformed and healed and to bring love and healing out into the world.
